Plantation's agroforestry system of shaded-coffee farming has become a suitable REDD+ activity to meet national carbon enhancement and sequestration goals.

Reduces carbon in the atmosphere by producing shade-grown coffee under a canopy of trees that was grown from seed.

While generating income from coffee, Plantec also generates employment on the estate for all the plantation management-related activities. Employment opportunities are rare in this area and the plantation hires local labour, generally women who are illiterate, on a daily basis for conducting activities
such as application of manure, weeding, thinning, picking, and processing the beans.

We also employs a separate group of people in Kathmandu who carry out the roasting and packaging of the finished coffee product.
